Back to Caterpillars in the City
Professor Moore of The University of Chicago attended my bar mitzvah. My parents invited him for helping me with my science fair project. And it seems like he had an ok time. For the gift, he gave me a few of the specimens he let me study, part of the personal collection he caught himself in the South Pacific. This was a hobby of his. He was a professor of geophysical sciences.
Featuring some of the butterflies on loan from Professor Moore. The project consisted of shining a blacklight on the butterflies to see if it induced fluorescence in their wings. I documented the resulting fluorescence on graph paper. Below is the fluorescence of Papilio bridgei (later to become the logo on my website.)
